Journey From Still Life to Abstraction

The path continues.....I am in the third semester of my MFA in Visual Arts program at Lesley University and have begun to explore the fine arts community in my part of the world. To aid in that pursuit I completed a Fine Art Photography course at UT in March. The class included multiple guest presenters and a field trip to local galleries. No photography field trip would be complete without the expectation of shooting images to share with the group at the next meeting. This gave me the opportunity to explore a different style of imagery than what I've been creating for my portfolio at Lesley

After completing the UT course, I began the process of planning a local solo exhibition based on my Thesis show in January 2024. The solo exhibit in February 2024 will include abstract work created during my MFA program; images that utilize ordinary items to create dreamy abstracts exploring unknown interiors. Building upon the imagery of last semester, I've continued to explore the concepts of landscapes and bodies within this concept utilizing detritus and other commonly found items.
